Methods · Industry Match

What stands in your halls is urgently needed elsewhere.

The Industry Match Program records the competencies an industrial company already has, matches them with requirement profiles from critical infrastructure, civil protection and defence, and carries on through to initiating concrete cooperations.

The starting point

Two sides that need each other and rarely find each other.

On one side, industrial sites whose capacity depends on a few customers and is opening up. Their strengths have grown over time and are hard to copy: series production, supply chain, quality assurance, certification, maintenance.

On the other, established and young European manufacturers whose technology is in demand and whose production cannot scale fast enough. They need exactly those industrial capabilities but find neither the access nor a common language.

Saying the two belong together is easy. What fails is the translation: which competence fits which requirement, in what quantity, under which rules, at what effort. That is where the GRANTIRO Industry Match Program starts.

The market

Three growth markets, three different groups of buyers.

The requirement profiles come from three directions. They differ in requirements, rules and procurement routes, but they draw on the same industrial capabilities.

Critical infrastructureOperators of grids, water, telecommunications and logistics. What is wanted is hardening, spare part supply and protection of the installations.

Civil protectionCivil protection, disaster response and municipalities. After decades of cutbacks, equipment and reserves are being built up again.

DefenceArmed forces and European programmes. New requirement profiles call for different quantities, shorter development cycles and different supply chains than before.
The sequence

Four steps, two phases.

The first two steps are a stocktaking. They help even if no cooperation comes of it, for instance in your own strategic planning or in a sale process under way.

01

Snapshot screening

Recording the competencies that are there: manufacturing processes, plant, certifications, testing, supply chain, people. Not the product range but the ability behind it.

02

Match analysis

Comparison with the requirement profiles from critical infrastructure, civil protection and defence. The result is a solid statement of where it fits, where it does not, and what is missing.

03

Introduction and synchronisation

Contact with the manufacturers where there is a match. GRANTIRO translates between two worlds that run at different speeds and speak differently.

04

Cooperation project

Coordinating the collaboration through to industrialisation: structure, pace, roles, and the cultural integration of two very different organisations.

The scope depends on the individual situation. A screening is possible within a few weeks; a cooperation takes longer.

For whom

Three starting points, one program.

Industrial companies and shareholders

Sites looking for new capacity utilisation that want to know which of their capabilities count in these markets before investing in a new strategy.

Restructuring advisers and investors

Special situations where the value of a site rests not only on the order book and the asset list but on what it could become.

Manufacturers under demand pressure

Young companies that have to scale production and need industrial partners with series experience.
